Boy oh boy, all that hullabaloo a few months ago around here about a woman suing to play in what have traditionally been “men’s only” golf tournaments… here it is well into the spring tournament season, and we haven’t seen that particular golfer signed up for either of two possible co-ed tournaments. Sure makes one wonder why there had to be such a fuss.
Not only that, but this past weekend did see a co-ed pairing (another female golfer, not the plaintiff mentioned above) competing out on the course. She seemed to be having a good time and I noticed only friendly, positive conversation in the clubhouse regarding her entry into the tournament… no shunning of her, no squawking, no one leaving her stranded on the tee and refusing to play against her and her partner.
I just have to ask, why then did women playing with the men have to become such a big deal and why such drastic legal measures?
