Golf Fore the Good

The 12th day ‘fore Christmas, my friend called and spoke aloud
” I can take a sick day now, let’s play a round.”

The 11th day ‘fore Christmas, for sure, we all did say,
it’s the last day to play before the holiday!

The 10th day ‘fore Christmas, the weather could turn mean,
we should play once more while every thing’s still green!

The 9th day ‘fore Christmas, with a frost delay and all,
we all enjoyed a match and not the mall.

The 8th day ‘fore Christmas, despite predicted rain,
the course was packed with players once again.

The 7th day ‘fore Christmas, our shopping not yet done,
can we squeeze in eighteen holes, just for fun?

The 6th day ‘fore Christmas, with parties each night, late,
who made that early tee time, eight-o-eight?

The 5th day ‘fore Christmas, our butts are in a sling,
just a few days left, we haven’t bought a thing!

The 4th day ‘fore Christmas, the winter solstice here,
soon the days stay lighter longer, we all cheer!

The 3rd day ‘fore Christmas, with shopping days at three,
we can quickly grab nine holes before our spree.

The 2nd day ‘fore Christmas, our presents are not wrapped.
I’m sure we’ll find the time, just play the back?

The 1st day ‘fore Christmas, there’s no one on the tee…
we shall find a match tomorrow, wait and see!
