Golf Fore the Good, Just golf

It is like learning a foreign language

Back before I played golf I often visited the clubhouse as a non-playing spouse. There were times at the bar, when I would meet my husband after his round, that I would listen to golf-speak and blankly nod my head. What I heard might have gone something like this; “I ripped the big dog, pulled it left to the edge of the lateral, punched out a knock down fade around the big tree, smoked one stiff then lipped out the birdie…” The only phrase that made sense to me was “the big tree” and even then I understood the words but not the concept.

Well, here I am, hoping to get this golf blog off the ground, to provide interesting content in a pleasing format, and once again find myself in a kind of language vapor barrier… i.e. does anyone know where I can download a fluid, widget ready, 3 column Wordpress theme with a horizontal navigation bar???

My efforts to establish the look and functionality of this site, on my own without professional guidance, have left me falling short of my pledge to myself to post at least a little something each and every day. So for today, here’s just a little tidbit I ran across that made me smile. Funny things can happen on the golf course. Now I’m back to learning geek-and-blog-speak…
