It is difficult to find middle ground when it comes to the subject of smacking a little white ball hundreds of yards into a hole. One seems to either get the bug or not when it comes to golf.
For all of us so smitten, Golf Fore the Good exists to celebrate the amateur! Most of us who have given in to the obsession have at least retained enough presence of mind to know we’re not the next Tiger Woods or Annika Sorenstam. We already know those guys are good and those girls rock. This site is not about them.
We all play golf for so many different reasons; for fun, for competition, for exercise, for a social outlet. It can bind families and build friendships. In four hours, golf can lay bare a person’s soul more cleanly than an in depth psychoanalysis.
Most of us realize we will never make it to the show but still many amateur golfers dream of greatness in their own right. Some of us have already attained our goal, be it a club championship, winning a USGA sanctioned amateur event or simply grabbing low net in the local niners league. Many of us are still searching for our own personal best on the golf course.
There are millions of golf enthusiasts out there and many millions more stories that go with them. This is your venue to boast, to banter, and to browse. Do you know an 84 year old who can still shoot his/her age? Know the next rising star blazing the AJGA circuit? Did you just shoot the round of your life? Tell us about your game!
